Thank you, and enjoy!

WHWBUT? April Edition

April has been a very busy month for us at In Control.  We have finalised the magazine and we have been making sure it is to the highest of standards for you all to finally see it!

The magazine is out tomorrow, at 2pm, and we really hope you’re as excited to read it as we are for you to read it.  It has been a brilliant journey, with many fantastic contributors, from our interviewees, to our guest authors, and our readers that have written in.

It is the beginning of all the information you as parents should ever need, when it comes to your children and videogames.  Once you have read the magazine, there will be a short, optional survey we will ask you to fill in so we know where to improve next time.

We would like to thank all of our contributors, and all of our followers who have stayed with us through this journey and who have been active in keeping up to date with us!

Thank you!

WHWBUT – March Edition

In Control are pleased to announce Stampylonghead has an exclusive interview with us in the first issue!

This month we have been working on content and marketing for In Control Magazine.  We have been in touch with Mumsnet, Bath Mums and Stampylonghead to get us recognised.  In Control have been lucky enough to interview Joseph Garrett, better known as Stampylonghead or Stampycat to his fans, and we will be publishing this in our first issue, which is due at the beginning of May!

Deciding on how best to market In Control, we have been using paid-for Facebook adverts, researching Search Engine Results Pages and Search Engine Optimisation techniques in order for us to get the best reach possible for our start up magazine.  We have been in touch with parents and students to ask for contributions to our first issue, and if you would like to write an article or get in touch with any queries you have about your children, please email our new address: incontrolmaguk@gmail.com!

If you haven’t already, please check out our Facebook and Twitter pages, give us a like and a follow and share with all of your friends!
Thank you for reading!  Check back at the end of next month for the final blog on the build up to this magazine!

What Have We Been Up To? Feb 2016

This month has been all about finding out where we fit in the market…

WHWBUT? February Edition

This month has been all about finding out where we fit in the market and how we can best brand ourselves to make us appealing to you, the parents!  We have been doing a lot of market research on the magazines aimed at videogames and the sites aimed at parents; coming to the conclusion that there isn’t anything quite like us.  There are similar places or one-off blog posts, but we’re here to give you an extensive insight into what you should be mindful of when letting your kids play videogames.

We want to be the ones that give you unbiased, honest knowledge of the games, consoles, and apps that are out there today.  We know it’s easy to be swayed by adverts or big-eyed children pleading for the latest game or console so we’re here to help you understand just what you’re getting yourselves into and also what your children are up to!

This month we have been working on a ‘Top 50 Console Games For Kids’ first edition special article that will be followed by a ‘Top 50 Mobile Games For Kids’ article in the second edition.  Also in our first edition we will be bringing you an article that breaks down the PEGI ratings system and just what they all mean, along with a guide that will help you setup parental settings on the latest consoles on the market.  We know it is easy to worry about just what videogames do to your children, and for that we have an article on the anxieties surrounding the medium and also an article that will put your mind at ease in terms of understanding that videogames are part of a healthy media consumption.

February has been busy for us, finally sorting out the final logos, and Facebook and Twitter accounts in order to get us up and running, properly, on the internet!  There are links to our Facebook and Twitter down the side of the page, so please do check them out if you get the chance!

Thank you for reading!  We will be active on social media and will be posting at least one blog post a month!
